Went out this past Saturday to get some pictures at twilight. First choice was the AF Academy, but that didn’t work (a subject for a future post, no doubt). So I ended up in Manitou Springs and (gulp!) Garden of the Gods. Okay, I know. But, I promise, these are different, as it was dusk, and I was playing around with some long exposure times. First up, was Fountain Creek in Manitou Springs. What a great little spot by the side of the road. The skies were gloomy which played perfectly into the mood of this photo. Kristin and I think the woods look spooky!
At the Garden, I caught a few cars driving by. You do see the cars, don’t you? It was fun trying to catch them at various points. This one came out the best. The last one is a view of Garden of the Gods with Cheyenne Mountain in the background. This mountain is the home to NORAD. They watch the skies for signs of attack on North America and are trackers of all of the stuff orbiting Earth, and of course, Santa Claus!
Been having a go at this myself recently!
Certainly gives a great feel to the right image — need to do more of this!
